Come learn about Skagit Vets Connect\, an innovative project that co-locates Community Action veterans and housing staff\, Veterans Administration social workers\, Skagit County Veteran Service Officer\, and other partners. Together\, we honor the service of our veterans by assisting with housing\, homelessness\, basic needs\, and navigating federal benefits for income\, healthcare and more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHear about a NEW partnership between the Port of Skagit to get firewood to lower-income seniors and veterans\, and special Veterans Day service project to keep those who served warm this winter.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Brunch & Learn:\n\n\nJoin us from 9-10 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month for “Virtual Brunch & Learn with Community Action!” Back in “The Beforetimes”\, Community Action hosted monthly Lunch & Learn sessions for our partners\, volunteers\, staff\, donors and anyone else interested to: 1) Learn about a community need\, 2) what the community is doing to solve it together\, and 3) Community Action’s role. In 2023 we’ll look at hunger and food security\, housing and homelessness\, services for seniors and kids\, and much more! Bring your coffee or tea and a snack to this virtual coffee break\, and join us!
