Topic: Seniors & Disabled Services, and Medicaid Transportation
With costs on the rise for housing, food and basic needs, what services are available for Skagit County’s lower-income seniors, adults with disabilities, and Medicaid patients? Learn how volunteers are helping seniors to pay their bills and live independently at home, which is great for them AND for the community. Find out how volunteers have helped dialysis and cancer patients continue to receive life-critical care, even during the pandemic. Get information to make good referrals, and how churches, service groups and other volunteers can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
Speakers:
  • Mariana Brandt, Seniors & Disabled Services Coordinator
  • Nikki Robinson, Medicaid Transportation Coordinator

About the Brunch & Learn:
Join us from 9-10 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month for “Virtual Brunch & Learn with Community Action!” Back in “The Beforetimes”, Community Action hosted monthly Lunch & Learn sessions for our partners, volunteers, staff, donors and anyone else interested to: 1) Learn about a community need, 2) what the community is doing to solve it together, and 3) Community Action’s role. In 2023 we’ll look at hunger and food security, housing and homelessness, services for seniors and kids, and much more! Bring your coffee or tea and a snack to this virtual coffee break, and join us!
