The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is also known as Basic Food, EBT or Food Stamps. It is a federal program that helps people with low income buy food at the grocery store. It is administered locally by the Washington State Department of Social & Health Services.

How Does the Process Work?
Upon approval, an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card will be given to you. EBT benefits are accepted at most grocery stores. You use it just like a debit card, and your benefits are renewed on the same date each month.
