The Housing Resource Center serves as the primary point-of-entry for the Coordinated Entry System in Skagit County. Anyone experiencing homelessness, or at imminent risk of homelessness, is encouraged to apply. We also provide a list of “Housing Options to Try in Skagit” for those who are struggling with locating affordable housing.
Who is Eligible?
Specific eligibility is determined by individual programs, however here are some base guidelines we use:
- Are you homeless?
- Are you facing eviction? (proof of eviction notice is required)
*Income requirements apply
Note: Being placed on the Housing Interest Pool does not mean a housing option is available.
How to Apply
Walk-in to Community Action (330 Pacific Place, MV) during Housing Resource Center Hours. You can also apply for services at the Anacortes Family Center in Anacortes, Samish Indian Nation in Anacortes, or the East County Resource Center in Concrete. Youth (24 or under) may also apply at Northwest Youth Services or at the YMCA Oasis Teen Center.
Housing Resource Center Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 3pm.
What is the process?
During the intake process, staff meet with applicants one-on-one to determine what services they may qualify for.
If an applicant qualifies for services, they are placed on the Housing Interest Pool which automatically generates reports to housing assistance providers both at Community Action as well as at partner agencies. When an opening occurs, local providers will select an applicant from these reports.
Please note that the Housing Resource Center only assesses basic eligibility. Each provider is responsible for determining if an applicant truly qualifies to be served through their program. There is no guarantee of service and we always suggest that applicants continue exploring other options.
