To fulfill our Community Action National Performance Standards, the 15-member board of directors represents our community and the people we serve: one-third public sector (elected officials); one third private sector (business, nonprofit, education, faith-based, etc.); and one-third client sector (from groups self-organized among low-income community members). In 2025, our Board of Directors voted to expand our Board from 12 to 15 board members.

Board Committees
Our board committees are pipelines for board service. Several board committees are open to community volunteers. This is a great way for volunteers to get to know Community Action
and contribute to our mission, to see if board service may be a good fit in the future. Some board committees include: Donor Development Committee/ Spirit of Hope Planning Committee, Housing Work Group, Board Planning & Engagement, Community Relationships, Education & Advocacy Taskforce, Personnel Committee, Housing Project Work Group, Finance Committee, and the Latinx Advisory Committee.
